Cosmetic Contact Lens

Change Your Image and Your Life With Cosmetic Contact Lenses

Cosmetic Contact Lens

People can wear contact lenses for a variety of reason.  The obvious one is that you don’t like wearing prescription glasses and feel self conscious.  Some people may not need to wear prescription glasses but have a problem with one eye, scarring or a deformity.  Again this can be a knock back to their confidence.  Some just want a change perhaps for that special party or even acting in a play.
Now you can change your whole appearance with coloured prescription or non-prescription contact lenses.  They come in every colour and shade imaginable.  You can be one colour by day and another by night.  You can even buy lenses just to match that special outfit as an accessory like your shoes.

Changing the colour of your eyes makes them even more irresistible than just adding make up.  The colour of your eye can re-invent your whole look.

Coloured lenses do not impair your vision and just make that perfect fashion accessory taking space in your closet along with your shoes and handbags, all to match.

Coloured lenses come in various types:

Eye Changers:   These come in three tone colours and single tone.  The three tone lens is for a more subtle change in colour whereas the single tone is for a more striking look.  They give a more dramatic change and are more suitable for people with very dark eyes.

Eye Catchers:   These are more just for fun and come in a variety of patterns.  Great for Halloween is the vampire and witches range or for the football fan, the St George Cross for example.

Whether you want to look like someone in the movies in a particular role or you just want to be different there is something out there for everyone.

Coloured lenses are made from the highest quality materials and are perfectly safe like normal lens.  It is always best to check with your optician before buying cosmetic lenses as everyone’s eyes are different and may not be suitable for you.

Dark eyes can be covered by an array of subtle blues or bold hues to suit your mood and are the way to go for dark eyes to be transformed.  It is reported that people with brown eyes crave for blue eyes.  You can go for a subtle light ice blue to a more dark dramatic pacific blue.  This way you can and safely at a reasonable price too, as prices do vary from make to make.

For those with light eyes, ocean blues and leaf greens make a dramatic effect getting you noticed.

Matching an eye colour for a prosthetic use is more challenging but any colour can be duplicated in a lens to match.  This is because the eye can change colour due to lighting conditions and even reflections from clothing.  So, even though you may not get an exact match to your iris it won’t be far off.  Digital photographs is one way to be able to match colours and also taking into consideration skin tones and hair colour.

The way the lens is made is by laminated process which incorporates a non toxic pigment bonded between two HEMA (hydroxyethyl methacrylate) layers to provide depth just like a real eye.  Colour pigments are then absorbed into the lens matrix and sealed within the laminated bonding.  This method ensures a longer lasting lens and one where the colour does not fade.
